Sex abuse, particularly of children, is a crime which any rational person would wish to prevent. However, when an individual’s loyalties and responsibilities institution put them at odds with preventing sex it far too often the takes precedence. This grim phenomenon institutional complicity. It plague which, sadly, permeates institutions all types, be school, hospital, sports team, church, military, or government agency. also countries as global issue. I have interviewed dozens survivors who suffered under abuser was protected by institution. The survivor’s expectation simple: protected. Yet, time after time, these found that good name reputation rather than themselves. Many express their anger towards those enabled abuse greater abuser. In this submission I propose answer criminalize enabler.
